Traditional cookie? You know, what most respectable moms, grandmas or favorite aunts had in their recipe box--do you remember those little boxes that held the 3" x 5" index cards with "From the kitchen of _______" at the top? Chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, oatmeal. For better or worse I now have my tablet, Pinterest boards and who knows how many pinned recipes. Our traditional cookies are for when the passion fruit tart topped with hibiscus infused foam and gooseberry compote seems a little fussy.
Cookies that are here for you; to finish the pizza party your kids just informed you was happening at your house, the special snack you slip into someone's bag to find later or the treat you enjoy in the afternoon with a cup of tea. Keep some on hand in the freezer and pair with ice cream or enjoy by themselves.
