We may call these Chocolate Salted Espresso Shortbread but we like to think of these as our local love cookies.  Sweater Box Confections' love of cookies, and chocolate, locally harvested sea salt from Hatteras Saltworks and locally roasted espresso from Ashley's Espresso Parlour.  It's a cookie trifecta from our little sandbar.

We wave our magic spatula over butter, sugar, flour and a Turkish grind of Ashley's espresso roast.  We add quality chocolate and solar evaporated sea salt at the very end. This means you get little bursts of salt as you enjoy each cookie.  

These hand made cookies are a great gift for the beach lover in your life and no sunscreen required!  Consider keeping a few bags on hand for a simple dessert after dinner with friends or to celebrate booking your favorite Outer Banks vacation.

Each 6 oz. bag contains approximately 20-22 cookies.

Soooo delicious!!

When visiting Nags Head two summers ago, our host left snacks from the area for us to enjoy, including these cookies. We loved them so much and wanted to find more to bring home. My partner and I stumbled upon a little vendors market where the owner was selling these cookies and bought a few boxes. We then regretted not buying more and found a little shop on our way out of town selling them (thankfully). These are the most delicious cookies I’ve ever had and I think about them all the time!!
